Maud Lovett

Born in 1978, Maud Lovett began to study the violin at the age of four with Gilberte Desruaulx-Candela then Jean-Walter Audoli and Michèle Auclair. At thirteen years old, she was unanimously admitted at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris where she took classes with Marie-Claude Theuveny, Alain Meunier, Michel Michalakakos and Bruno Pasquier. Following these studies, she underwent advanced studying with Isaac Stern and Miriam Solovieff (herself a disciple of Flesh, Kathleen Parlow, Persinger, Robert Pollack, Max Rostal) benefiting from the legacy of Eugène Ysaÿe, and also took part in master classes with Yo Yo Ma and Jian Wang.

Winner of several international competitions with Sandrine Chatron, harpist and her sister Anne Lovett, pianist, Maud Lovett leads a career at the crossroads of multiple paths: chamber music (she is invited to perform regularly with Calliopée Ensemble, Member of the Contraste Ensemble), contemporary music (with the ensemble TM +), arabian music (with the Lebanese composer and musician Marcel Khalifé) and her own solo career.

In 2010 she created with Jean-Luc Ayroles (piano), Bruno Maurice (accordion) and Jérôme Voisin (clarinet) the Pasarela Ensemble (www.ensemblepasarela.com).
She performed in the most prestigious festivals in Europe (Schleswig-Holstein, “Attendance” of Radio France, Aix en Provence, Madrid, Festival de l’Orangerie de Sceaux, Festival de Prades, Auvers sur Oise, etc…) and worldwide (Iran, USA, Bahrain Brazil…). Most of these concerts were broadcasted on Arte, BBC, Mezzo, RAI, Radio France…

Anxious to share to many her passion for music and art in general, she created in 2005 the association “A l’Unisson” which aims to democratize “classic music” with concerts and activities in elementary and highschools in France and abroad in partnership with local NGOs.

In 2009, Maud Lovett was awarded for her first record (Alpha records with the Calliopée Ensemble, Martinu Chamber music) the “Choc Classica” award and represented France in Sao Paulo during the year of the France in Brazil. For the season 2010-2011, she will premiere the concerto for violin and Orchestra by composer Marcel Khalifé with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Qatar (29 January 2011).
Maud Lovett teaches at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional of Amiens.
