Goh Wen Chih

Born in Seremban , Goh Wen Chih commenced cello lessons with Jonathan Oh at the age of 6, and achieved the LTCL Performance Diploma of Trinity College London at the age 16. The prizes and awards that he had won at various local and international competition including Silver Medal for both the Junior Stings Category and Chamber Music Category at the International Youth Music Festival , and the Youth Category First Prize at the Euroasia Youth Music Competition 2013. As the Patron’s Prize winner 2016, Wen Chih has just recently returned from the Cello Fan Festival in Callian , France where he had the opportunity to take part in several concerts during the Festival ,and received lessons from cellist Florent and Frederic Audibert , Paul-Antoine Rocca Serra and Xavier Chatillon and performed in several concerts

In 2014 , Wen Chih was the only Malaysian cellist selected to participate in the ChildAid Asia Concert held in Suntory Hall, Tokyo. In the same year,  he won Second Prize for the Strings Category at the Euroasia Young Soloist Competition 2014 , was the finalist for the Asia Music Competition and won the Young Artist Cello Solo Category First Prize at the Malaysian Youth Music Festival. In 2011, he made his first international debut at the International Youth Music Festival in ChangSha, China.

Wen Chih is also the founding member of Arioso Sinfonia, which has won numerous prizes, notably the 2nd place at the Princess Galvani Vadhana International Ensemble Competition (PGVIEC) 2014. Since then, he has performed on a number on international platforms, including Singapore,  Japan , Thailand and Italy. Wen Chih has been a member of the  Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra since 2013 and earned a seat with the prestigious Asian Youth Orchestra for their 2018 tour.

Possessing a strong passion for music and performance, Wen Chih aspires to become a professional cellist.
