Danish Mubin

Malaysian born Danish Mubin is currently an undergraduate at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YSTCM) under the tutelage of Lionel Tan. He started violin lessons at age 6 under the tutelage of Angel Lee before deciding to take up the viola as his principal instrument at the age of 12. His previous teachers include Dr. Andrew Filmer, Daniel Trgina and Jiri Heger. Apart from regular music lessons, Danish has also taken masterclasses with well respected musicians such as Raphael Oleg, Donald Maurice, and Nobuko Imai.

Danish has been prize winners in several competitions, winning the Malaysian Youth Orchestra Foundation (MYOF) Open Category, and Bronze medal in the inaugural Euroasia Youth Music Festival in 2013. He previously performed as a soloist with the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra under the baton of Benjamin Zander. He is also a member of the Seremban Quartet, which has actively performing all around Malaysia.

Besides solo and chamber music, Danish has also been actively involved in numerous concerts and performances with various youth orchestra. These include the Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO), KL String Project, South East Asia Youth Chamber Orchestra (SEAYCO), and the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO). He is also the founding member of Arioso Sinfonia, which has won numerous prizes, notably the 2nd place at the Princess Galvani Vadhana International Ensemble Competition (PGVIEC).

Danish is currently using a viola made by Maestro Francesco Bissolotti
