Solo – Young Artiste Category

Open to participants age 24 and below. (Born in or after 2000)

The Young Artiste Category aspires to identify and discover the next generation of artistes who demonstrates exceptional talent and artistry in their performance, and accepts applications for Violin, Viola and Cello only.  Repertoire for both the Preliminary and Final Rounds are partially set.

Performance Requirement**

Preliminary Round

  • An etude drawn from the list for the respective instruments.
  • A contrasting complete piece of one’s own choice. (Participants’ may choose a piece from List B of the Finals Round)
  • Programme must not exceed 15 minutes.

Final Round

  • A balanced programme not exceeding 20 minutes in total.
  • Programme must include at least one compulsory piece from both List A and List B for the respective instruments.

***Only applicable for participants from the Malaysian regional preliminary rounds. For other regions, please refer to your country representative.

*PLEASE TAKE NOTE – Live Preliminary Round entry fees and Final Round Administration Fee are inclusive of ONE audience entry pass (Solo Performances), and TWO audience entry passes (Ensemble Category).

Performances exceeding the stipulated time limit may be disqualified.
