Euroasia Strings Competition 2019 Special Prizes

Young Artiste Category:

The Patron’s Prize: A Music Festival in France
The Patron’s Prize highlights both Euroasia’s standing as a premier competition platform in the country, as well as the heart of its mission: to establish connections between our country and the cultural heritage of Europe. The Prize provides a scholarship to attend the Festival de Musique des Arcs in France in 2020. It covers both flights as well as the academy fees, with accommodation and other costs left to the participant.

Concerto Prize: A Concerto Performance in Thailand
The prize highlights the value of competitions as platforms for identifying talent (and hard work!) in the new generation of musicians, and as a way of propelling them forward. This Prize provides the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the world-renowned Siam Sinfonietta, an orchestra that has garnered standing ovations at Carnegie Hall, under the direction this year’s Co-Head of Jury of the Euroasia Competition.

Young Artiste Junior Category:

Concerto Prize: A Concerto Performance with the Kamerata KL
The winner of this prize will perform a concerto movement with the Ensemble.

Open Categories:

Best Performer in an Age Category
This is an elective prize, meaning that it is up to the jury’s discretion whether this is awarded on top of the regular prizes. This can be provided for up to one exceptional performer per age group, who shows not only control of one’s instrument, but an understanding of the role of the performer in connecting to the audience. This award provides the winner with the choice of either a Pedi shoulder rest or a bow tube, with a retail value of RM308.

Most Promising Violinist
This is also an elective prize, and can be awarded to a violinist of any age category deemed exceptional. The winner should show not only technical mastery but artistic merit, with an understanding of the composition and clear musical ideas communicated effectively to the audience. The award provides the winner with a Pedi violin case, with a retail value of RM1080.
