Walter Chan Ching Tak

Walter Chan Ching Tak entered the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2005 and continued his study with Leung Kin Fung, where he graduated with Advanced Diploma and Professional Diploma.

Walter Chan has performed as a freelance musician for 6 years for the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. He has participated in a number of opera and ballet projects, including the Romeo and Juliet (with the Hong Kong Philharmonic), the Nutcracker and performed in Italia Festival and Tokyo Festival (with Hong Kong Sinfonietta). He has also collaborated with Vienna philharmonic orchestra on Mahler projects. Besides classical world, Walter Chan also engaged in many musicals and pop music concerts. He has been invited to be the musician of the world’s famous Broadway musical ” The Phantom of the Opera” during their world tour in Hong Kong 2006. He has also performed with many famous pop singers and composers including Alan Tam, Jacky Cheung, Leo Koo Eason Chan 2014 and performed in the Welcome Ceremony of the President of the International Olympics Committee Count Rogge in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Walter Chan also being invited to be the Concert Master for the II Divo World Tour 2011 and 2014.

Since 2009, Walter Chan has been invited by Leung Kin Fung to play as the Second Violinist for the Hong Kong Pure Strings and published their New CD “Surprise” in Sep 2009 and “From Here to There” in 2011. They have their Asia Tour in Oct 2010 and performed with during 2010 Shanghai World Expo. Walter Chan is currently acting as Hong Kong Citypop Orchestra Concertmaster and Hong Kong Global Harmony Orchestra Concert Master. Also, he is the former of Hong Kong Mr. Quartet and Hong Kong Performa Orchestra.
